Mother's Day is a Gift

The vase and the glass on the right were created in the Make Your Own Mother's Day Gift. Pretty good don't you think?  And they never worked with glass before. Hard to believe.

Mother's Day Extravaganza

My special Mother’s Day glass-making event was a whirlwind of activity throughout the month of April up to the night before Mother’s Day. Thank you to all who let me help them create glass-blown Mother’s Day gifts.

Mothers, daughters and sons came out to try their hand at glassblowing by themselves or in small groups. One clever man surprised his wife and mother with glass making for each of them.

“Where are we going?” his wife asked.

“It’s a surprise.”

“Do I dress up?”

“Nope.”

“Hiking boots?”

“Not necessary.”

“Running shoes?”

“That would work.”

“Casual then?”

He nodded.

When they arrived, the women were momentarily disoriented and then quickly got into the swing of making their own gift: a robin’s egg blue rocks glass and a cobalt blue vase. They had a blast and so did I.
